The British Museum Western Range Competition

Over the last nine months we have partnered with the incredible Lina Ghotmeh and her team, Ali Cherri, Plan A, Purcell and Arup to reimagine one-third of the museum’s gallery space, highlighting sustainability, inclusivity, and cultural exchange.

Our team is excited to share our short film for the renovation competition of the British Museum's Western Range, part of the museum’s largest redevelopment project since the 1820s. The competition attracted entries from six continents, with 60 teams showcasing a diverse array of approaches and expertise, ranging from established architectural firms to emerging practices.

Holmes Studio are leading the exhibition, interpretation, wayfinding and holistic visitor experience design of the project.
